DUI on a bike.

(Daily Camera, http://www.dailycamera.com/)
(BTW not the man who was charged in the photo.)

Yes it is true you can get a DUI on a bicycle. I recently read this in the Gazette in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A 30 year old man I will not name was riding his bike when he collided into a car. The police arrived at the scene to file a report and noticed the man was disoriented. The guy who hit the car said he only had a few drinks (10) earlier in the evening.

Reviews had commented on this report. Whats your opinion? Should he have gotten a full DUI charge for riding his bike? Should he be given some slack because he chose his bike over an automobile?

"realizing that a drunkard riding a bike home is much safer than the alternative, driving a car home. "
"If you expect the same rights on the road on a bike as an automobile, you have the same responsibilities."

    1. I do not think that he should have been driving anything intoxicated even a minor amount of alcohol. Bicycles are considered like vehicles in how you have to have reflectors, turn signals with arms/hands and other things. People want to think they are being safer but it is possible they drive into traffic and can cause the same problems as if they were in a car. They should not take the chance of doing something so idiotic if they don't want to pay the price. I think the dui charge is what he should received.
